Terms and community rules
Using the site
- This is an unofficial fan site, run by players for free. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Citadel team.
- Game information can be wrong or out of date. Check each answer's status and patch, and the source links.
- Answers, starter guide chapters, codex entries and pages are written and corrected by editors. Every save is kept as a version, and saves by a Citadel developer are marked "by a developer".
- The site is provided as it is. It may change, go down or lose data.
- For help with your game account, use the official channels, not this site.
What you post
- You keep ownership of what you write and upload. By posting it you let us show it on this site.
- A forum answer that staff promote into the knowledge base may be edited and stays there if you delete your account, without your name.
- Editors and moderators can correct a published player guide. Each edit is kept in the guide's revision history.
- Only upload screenshots and pictures you have the right to share, and give each one alt text.
- You can edit your posts for 24 hours and delete your account at any time. See Privacy for what that removes.
Community rules
- Be civil. Argue about the game, not the person. No harassment, threats, slurs or hate.
- No one's personal information without their consent, and no impersonation, including of developers or staff.
- No cheats, hacks or exploit guides.
- No spam, ads or referral links. Item trades belong on the trading board; talk about trading in the Trade post board.
- No sexual or graphic content.
- Post in the right board and search before asking. Label speculation as speculation, especially lore and leaks.
- When you state a game fact, say which patch it applies to and where it comes from, if you can.
- Faction halls are for their faction. Anyone can read them; only that faction's members can post, plus staff, editors and the developers. Your faction comes from your roles in the Citadel Discord.
Trading
The trading board lets members list items they have and want, make and answer offers, and agree where to meet in game. These rules apply to listings, item notes, offers and their notes, and feedback:
- Trades are item for item. ORE can be added on either side.
- No real-world prices, money, crypto or gift cards, in listings, offers or feedback.
- No betting, gambling, or giveaways that need an entry.
We don't settle trades. The site only helps you find a trade and agree on it. It never holds items, it can't check or enforce what happens in game, and staff don't judge disagreements between players or take scam reports. Trades happen in the game, between players, at their own risk.
- Arrange the trade in Discord or in game: the site has no messaging. When an offer is accepted, you and the other player see each other's callsign and Discord username.
- Meet in a hub and trade with the in-game trade window.
- Check every item in the trade window before you accept.
- Look at the other player's trade feedback first.
- When an offer is accepted, the two players see each other's in-game callsign, Discord username and a link to their Discord profile, and nobody else does. You need a callsign in your profile to make or accept an offer, and the site says who will see your details before you send or accept one.
- A listing can be limited to the poster's faction ("Only trade with my faction"). Members of the other faction can't make offers on it.
- A listing stays open for 7 days, or until the season ends if that comes first. You can bump it once every 24 hours to keep it open for another 7 days.
- You can have up to 10 open listings at a time (3 for a new account).
- Some items can't be traded in the game; they can't be listed here either.
- After a trade, both players can leave one piece of feedback (positive, neutral or negative, with a short comment). Feedback is public. Be fair and stick to what happened.
Staff hide or remove listings, offers and feedback that break these rules, and can warn, time out or ban the member, as for any other post. A member in a timeout or banned can't list, make or answer offers, or leave feedback.
New accounts and blocked words
- For the first 7 days, a new account can post at most 5 times an hour (threads and replies together), put at most 2 links in a post or comment, and can't upload images.
- Staff can keep an account at the new-account limits longer, or lift them early.
- Some words and link domains are blocked everywhere you can write (posts and thread titles, comments, guides, builds, squad posts, hangar ships, your profile, and trading listings, offers and feedback). A few more, such as words for money and payments, are blocked on the trading board only. If something you write contains one, the site says which and asks you to edit it.
Moderation
Staff can move, lock, merge, split, hide or delete threads, hide or delete posts and comments, and reset an avatar, cover, bio, signature or handle that breaks these rules. To report a forum post, comment, profile, player guide, build, trading listing or trade feedback comment, use Report on it (spam, abuse, wrong info or other); for a profile picture, Report image on the profile; for an answer that a patch changed, Report as outdated; for anything else, see Contact.
When a member breaks the rules, staff can:
- Warn them. The warning, with its reason, shows on their next visit and they must acknowledge it.
- Time them out for an hour, a day, a week or until a set date (up to 90 days). During a timeout you can read everything but can't post, comment, react, upload or edit.
- Ban them for a set time or permanently. A banned member can sign in only to see the reason, the end date and how to appeal. Bans are tied to the Discord account, so a new site account doesn't get around one. Staff may keep, hide or delete a banned member's posts and other content.
- Reset a handle. The member then picks a new one before using the site again.
You are told about every action on your account, with the reason, in your notifications. To appeal, use Contact. Every staff action is recorded in an audit log that admins review.
We may update these terms and rules; the date at the top shows when they last changed.
