What is Heretical rarity?
A rarity new in Beta Patch 3: an identified Prototype module branded with a Gullveig brand.
- Use a Gullveig Pyre, Gullveig Penance or Gullveig Vigil on the module. It gains a special, and one of its modifiers flips to a penalty: ×1.12 becomes ×0.88.
- Pyre rewards running hot, Penance grows stronger for each ship shooting you, and Vigil builds up while you hold target locks and drone assignments.
- One brand in ten rolls one of 24 ascended versions, such as Defiance, which lets your turrets keep shooting through your own overheat SCRAM.
- A ship can carry one heretical module of each module type.
- Only Tek ciphers, the Ptah crucible and the Yata replicator work on it.

Brands drop in breach tier 5 and deeper. The special adds 70% of the module's base rating to its build rating, or 175% when ascended.
