Breaches & extraction
Where do enemy players enter a map?
It depends on the map.
- On the lanes between the faction hubs and Greylock, they usually come in from the opposite side.
- They can also arrive through any other breach that connects to the map.
Good to know
Since Beta Patch 2 the game prefers to bring arriving pilots in 11 km from hostile pilots, up from 7.1 km.
Any tips for clearing tier 4 and 5 breaches?
Take enemies one at a time and never overextend, a trusted player advises.
- Pick enemies off one by one.
- Kite them instead of charging in.
- Don't overextend.
- Avoid the highest-rated elites (around 9.6K build rating).
What is a blooded breach?
A breach turns blooded once enough PvP kills happen in it, and its loot rewards go up for a while.
- The better rewards are temporary.
- How many kills it takes, and how long the boost lasts, aren't known yet.
What build rating do I need for the highest breaches?
A developer suggests at least 18,000 to 20,000 for the high-tier breaches that have no build-rating cap.
- It's advice, not an entry rule: you can go in with less.
- If you do, play carefully.
Good to know
From Stratum 3 up, breach tiers also have a minimum build rating, up to 16,000 for Deep Strata.
Can I extract to the enemy faction's hub?
No. The train won't take you to the other faction's hub.
Check where a train goes before you board it: destinations differ, and some lead into other breach regions.
How do I unlock higher breach tiers?
Extract successfully from breaches of the tier below, a trusted player says.
- A higher tier opens once you've made it out of the previous tier's breaches.
- Unlocking a tier doesn't override a breach's build-rating range: your rating still has to fit it to get in.
Good to know
The higher-tier breaches are reached from Greylock.
