Beta Patch 2

A big combat and quality-of-life patch: the beta now runs to 15 October, squads hold five, missile launchers move to battery hardpoints, armor and shields get base resistances, every ship gets a four-cell safety hold, and there are five camera modes.

What changed

  • The beta runs two weeks instead of one and ends on 15 October 2026.
  • Squads hold up to five pilots, up from three.
  • Missile and torpedo launchers fit battery hardpoints (diamond) instead of subsystem hardpoints (triangle), with visible launchers that aim at the cursor.
  • Missiles and mines deal high-explosive damage. Armor resists 24% kinetic and 20% high-explosive; shields resist 10% kinetic and 30% high-explosive.
  • Lower missile damage (Cruise Missile 180, Torpedo 225) and smaller homing bonuses across modules, regalia and affinity.
  • Every ship has a safety hold of four cells in a fixed 2×2 square at the top left of the cargo grid.
  • Tab targeting has a set order and cycles or unlocks on a second press; right-click harpooning toggles.
  • Nanite Regenerator repair scales with quality; a Standard one repairs 70 HP/s for 16 s.
  • Five camera modes on B, M, J, G and N, all rebindable.
  • A browser tab left in the background for over a minute disconnects.
  • NPCs steer around obstacles; Thrust Scramblers and Torque Snares shut off NPC boost and drift.
  • The faction picker closes the leading faction to new recruits, and Discord faction and rank roles update while you play.
  • Holding Z on a tooltip shows each modifier's roll range.
  • Faster UI response, restored sounds and a long list of bug fixes.
